Hamelin

For FUORI!, Hamelin curated the creation of a series of thematic cartographies that – through a selection of narrative sources including books, comics, films and theatrical works – interpret the big questions articulated in the various trajectories of the project. La città di luce, Corpi sonori, I trasfigurati, E poi basta and Camminare are the five itineraries during which the teenagers that participated in the different projects shared readings and reflections on utopias, the sense of community, the relationship between body and public space, identity and change, generating multimedia maps of stories addressed to their peers, thanks to the collaboration of the network Patto per la Lettura Bologna and the website of the Xanadu project.

Hamelin is a cultural association focusing on reading education, children’s and teenage literature, comics and illustrations. Its guiding principle is that reading is a fundamental aesthetic action to find the meaning of oneself and the world. Since 1996, Hamelin has been working all over Italy with children, adolescents, and those who dialogue with them in educational spaces, organising training courses and reading advocacy projects. Hamelin coordinated the project LXL – Leggere per leggere Bologna, curates cultural events and publishes in the magazine BOOM! Crescere nei libri, a critical observatory on childhood and reading.
