Muna Mussie

Native language, sight and memory: three themes, three losses. These are the starting points of the investigation of Eritrean artist Muna Mussie. She presents a workshop for young people, sharing her personal experience related to these three aspects. Through shared reflections and theatrical practices, they will answer some questions: How is an image created? Where do images come from? If I close my eyes and try to define my image, what do I see?

BIO

Muna Mussie is a multidisciplinary artist that works with gestures, vision and words to investigate the languages of the stage and of performing arts. She collaborated as an actress and performer with Teatro Clandestino and Teatro Valdoca, and co-founded the research group Open. She presented her work in many art centres and festivals, including Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, MAMbo Bologna, Santarcangelo Festival, ERT Emilia Romagna Teatro Fondazione, Short Theatre, Hangar Bicocca, Mattatoio, Centrale Fies.
