Transgender identities, mutations, the invention of subjectivities, practices of resistance to the norm: this workshop, led by the collective Bluemotion and guided by Giorgina Pi, will involve young adolescents from Bologna and make them think about these themes. The starting point is the performance Pilade, a rewriting of Pier Paolo Pasolini’s work whose context changes from ancient Greece to a rave at the beginning of the 2000s and the impending end of an era. Aeschylus’s Eumenides have become transgender bodies, the chorus is a melting pot of cultures and backgrounds, and the farmers of the tragedy exploited black workers. A workshop originates from the performance, considering the possible mutations through the thoughts of authors and non-binary figures of contemporary transfeminism who theorise and practice forms of resistance to the norm, particularly concerning transgender identities. The programme relies on connections with organisations and people involved with political and cultural activism on a local and international scale, such as MIT (Transgender Identity Movement), and the contribution of the company’s performers, such as Nicole De Leo and Laura Pizzirani.
