Marco Martinelli presents an original Aristophanes: a furious, restless and emotional 18-year-old struggling with the drama of existence. On stage, over 70 teenagers from Bologna and Campania will voice – like Aristophanes – their everyday needs, questions and concerns. In Uccelli, the political issue is central. With a wild language and a percussive rhythm, ironic and visionary, the raging teenage Aristophanes narrates the desire to escape a city constantly at war that brings two Athenians to look for a possible model in the society of birds and establish a new polis, which will not manage to be different from the one they fled. Unlike the original comedy, where the revolution is extinguished in the worst of restorations, the crowd of young people from Pompei, Torre del Greco and Naples, joined in Bologna by teenagers of the Pilastro neighbourhood, uses the theatrical play to enact an overturning, allowing the desire for a different imagination to explode. This special version of Uccelli includes a workshop led by Marco Martinelli and Laura Redaelli, aimed at a group of teenagers from the Pilastro neighbourhood and carried out in collaboration with LAMINARIE / DOM la Cupola del Pilastro.
