Attrito is a call addressed to students, old and new activists, passers-by and audiences to cross together different space-time dimensions of urban dissent, questioning the polarisation between institutions and indiscipline. For its public sharing, Attrito is also an itinerant experience, made of human and non-human bodies, a performative gathering, a physical and acoustic immersion in the urban wilderness. Through a competitive, collaborative, experimental and intimate confrontation, the young protagonists of student rallies propose an imaginative exercise for a possible intergenerational alliance. What rebel knowledge will we need in the collapse awaiting us?
In the partial affective archive of city strikes the participants collected, the accounts of protagonists and witnesses of housing, school and activist squattings intertwine with the city’s non-domesticated spaces. Which narrations do we preserve, which ones do we silence, how much do they influence the present, and how do they make us take a stand in the shared city?
bio
Anna Rispoli works on the border between artistic creation and activism. She has been living in Belgium for over 15 years, and her artistic practice focuses on developing prototypes for sharing material resources, intelligence and affection, such as the collective economy experience of the Common Wallet. Rispoli was part of the Italian collective Zimmerfrei and collaborated with major international organisations such as Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels, Theater der Welt in Germany, Wiener Festwochen in Vienna and Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid.
